Hi, my name is Heather Boice! I am a proofreader living in the sunny state of Georgia with my husband and our two cuddly cats. I am passionate about proofreading and editing, and I very much enjoy the challenge of polishing up a transcript, story, or assignment and creating something that you can be proud of. I have completed extensive formal training in the art of transcript proofreading through the course Transcript Proofreading: Theory & Practice, and I use references such as Morson's English Guide for Court Reporters, The Gregg Reference Manual, and Margie Wakeman Wells' Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation. I have experience proofreading medical cases, insurance claims, court cases, and workers' compensation cases, just to name a few. I have also been trained to proofread manuscripts, plays and movie scripts, autobiographies, website content, résumés, blog content, and more through the course General Proofreading: Theory & Practice.

In college, I studied early childhood education and received both my bachelor’s and master’s with an endorsement in ELL (English Language Learners) for students whose native language is not English. I taught in a public Montessori school for five years in Nashville, Tennessee, before my husband and I were relocated to Washington for his job in the U.S. Navy.

When I am not proofing, I love to travel, hang out with friends, and explore new places with my family. I am also an avid adrenaline junkie, and I am always down for new thrills!

Feel free to take a look around my site and contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from you and creating excellent transcripts!
